The Saudi Ministry of Education decided to launch the next academic year, remotely, for school and university education, with the exception of practical courses for university students for fear of the new Coronavirus (Covid 19).

Education Minister Hamad Al Al-Sheikh said that his country "decided to start the school year remotely in general education during the first seven weeks, and from distance to theoretical courses in universities and technical education, in preparation for practical courses."

"Teachers will attend virtual classes remotely with their students," the minister added in a televised speech broadcast by the official Al-Akhbariya channel. He explained that the ministry will launch an electronic platform "Madrasati" for distance education while continuing to broadcast the courses through the ministry's "Ain" channels.
